Big City Diner-Waipio in Waipahu

You need to try the breakfast plates! We have been coming here for years. For lunch or dinner, I love getting the grilled tequila chicken with mushroom stack. It is delicious! Also, you can watch the sports games on the televisions. The servers are great. Occasionally, the manager will say hi or see how you are doing! A+++

CLYDE IS DA BOMB (along with the other workers that help us, like THE LADY THAT WAS DOING THE PICK UPS who helped seat us). I’ve lost count of how many years we have been coming for the Thanksgiving Meal. This year we went sometime around 4:00pm just missing the huge crowd that came in after us. It didn’t take long after we placed our order for the food to come out. The food was excellent!! Everything came out at the right temperatures. Was definitely pleased that the sweet potatoes was really good (had a bad experience with this at a different location many years back). Will definitely be back next year.

Chicken Tequila and Ramen w/ Gralic Shrimp This was so amazing.

Workers are very friendly. Service was great. We actually did a takeout. My daughter ordered a hamburger which wasn't too bad. I ordered a hamburger steak w/gravy. It was terrible. It had a sour taste to it. I could taste some kind of herb. Would not go there again.

I ordered the 3 egg omelette with cheese and sausage with fried rice. It was very tasty and fluffy. I would definitely eat this again.

Picked up takeout for the grandparents today. Their faves...kalbi entree with KC fried rice, Teri hamburger steak, & apple pie. Pickup was easy and fast

I dont go to city doner often but when i go i get superb treatment..i always sit outside and order the same thing apple pie ala mode and a pot of tea.i wish i knew the gentleman name who usually waits on me..i would luv to give him a shoutout. He doesnt over wait but hes there if you need something.

The kalbi was good but the special of the week spicy ahi salad was not that great and it was 15.99 got a little bit of ahi.

Great food! I got the kalua pork egg Benedict 😋super tender and moist. Rice was soft and the eggs were just right. The Samurai Li Hing lemonade was so good!! Nice punch of both tart and sweet! 🍹had a great greeter who accommodated my family and I inside. 😎🤙🏽 Thank you for the awesome service!!

I've eaten from Big City Diner before but never have I dined in until today! The atmosphere was friendly and the servers were pretty attentive, giving us a great experience. I recommend BCD as a great places to take the family!

Waitress Pax served our table, it was Jalapeño Fried Rice with bacon...and it was way too big to finish, and very delicious!

We were in the Waipio area and decided to have dinner at this Big City Diner. It did not disappoint. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Also, the food came out fast and delicious. I had to chose a large salad and almost finished it. It was so good, but I was stuffed. My hubby was happy because he ate his pork chops with gravy and finished my salad! The macaroni and cheese with ham was also a hit with my son. At first, he didn't want to try it with ham...but when he did, he really liked it. Now I just have to get him to like peas. Until then, they will make it without peas when requested.Great staff, wonderful meals at a reasonable cost! 👏

Big City Diner is everything advertised. The nuance and service easily rated 5 stars. My wife and I caught a late evening meal, I had the Mushroom Burger and fries and my wife had the. Chicken Linguine Marsala and tomato basil soup. The staff were outstanding and very helpful with their suggestions. Thank you Big City Diner for a very memorable experience.

It only took me about five years (ha), but I finally made my way to Big City Diner with the fam, and it was worth the wait.I had Grandma's Incredible Kimchi Fried Rice, and I know that it'll be very hard to find anything like it in Maryland. It was really good, and it was a heaping serving! If you get anything from here, pick this.The service was really good, and everyone was getting settled in to watch UH football while we were there.

When seated, employee asked if we wanted a high chair, said yes and stood there for the next 5 mins assuming one was going to be brought to me. My water was sweet which was really weird.Ended up getting it myself.high chair was sticky and there was leftover food under the table,the waitress told us to "hold on" while I was ordering to go to another table then came back. It says a lot when a 2 year old doesnt like the mac and cheese, the steak was just soaked in garlic butter(looked grey) and the assumed 5 hour cooked ribs were dry and just smothered in bbq sauce. Liked the nachos but no one can mess up nachos so....Over all the service wasnt even there and the food wasnt worth spending 60$ over. We honestly expected more from the reviews (must have been for a different BCD)

What a disappointment. I ordered over hard eggs, which came out burned on the edges with a still liquid yolk. The hashbrowns looked nice and were crispy on the outside, but inside were disgustingly overcooked and mushy. My friend had pancakes and gave a grimace/shrug when I asked him how they were. They only have lipton tea which tbh was expected, but when i asked for another, they took the cup and it came back with the same teabag in it.For the record, I came with a large group and service was prompt. Perhaps come for dinner. The salmon was decent.

Comfy neighborhood diner that's welcoming and friendly. We came for breakfast. The loco moco is ridiculously good: tender and tasty, it's like a steak, and the gravy is so good. Ani's cinnamon bread French toast doesn't need syrup, and it tastes fantastic with eggs over-easy. We'll definitely be back!

Fair process for local style favorites. Great rotating menu, and generous portions. Perfect for the "I'm not hungry" or "I don't feel like eating at place x, y, or z" situations, considering how their menu, no matter the time of day, has huge variety.

Eggs Benedict was pretty terrible, hash browns were some of the worst I’ve ever had with watery and mushy potatoes in the center. My friends meal seemed ok but food overall seemed subpar. Our waiter was very nice though
